The Brazilian admits Laurent Blanc's men are
shattered after a tough season but that they are still desperate to win
the Coupe de France
Maxwell says Paris Saint-Germain
are determined to "create history" after completing the second leg of
their treble bid by claiming a "deserved" Ligue 1 title on Saturday. The capital club have already lifted the Coupe de la Ligue and will play Auxerre in the final of the Coupe de France on May 30.
Maxwell admits that Laurent Blanc's men are running on empty after a season in which they also reached the last eight of the Champions League but explains that they are driven by the prospect of recording a domestic treble.
"It's been a long season, mentally tough," the Brazilian told reporters after Saturday's title-clinching 2-1 win at Montpellier. "We suffered a lot.
"But in the end, we deserved the title. Now we have to get the cup. We can create history."
Maxwell's compatriot Thiago Silva revealed that he found PSG's third successive title the most rewarding, given how hard they were pushed.
"We have a very good team but I'm glad this year was harder than last year," the centre-half stated.
"I want to congratulate everybody because we have played a lot of matches. Four competitions is mentally challenging."
Meanwhile, Blaise Matuidi, who scored the opener in their win at the Stade de la Mosson, believes that PSG should be proud of their campaign, despite the disappointment of their Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona.
"This is a very good season for us, even though there has been complicated times," the midfielder said.
"We have shown that we are the best in France. Now let's try to go win the cup."
